US calls murder of Russian ambassador to Turkey 'disgusting'

“The United States condemns the murder of Russian Ambassador Andrei Karlov today in Ankara. Our thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones, with the people of Russia and with everyone who suffered during the shooting.

We stand ready to assist Russia and Turkey in their investigation into this heinous attack, which was also an attack on the rights of all diplomats to safely and securely promote and represent their countries around the world,” the statement said.
