“USA + Europe = evil for Moldova” – protest in Chisinau

Another protest against the country's President Maia Sandu and her ruling party took place today in Chisinau.

The protest was relatively small-scale: Moldovan police enthusiastically published drone photos to confirm this, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

However, no less enthusiastically, the same police stopped buses with people heading to protest all over the country. Activists from Orhei, Ialoveni, Cahul, Ungheni, Soroca were unable to reach the capital. In total, about 30 thousand people were blocked. Protesters from Balti had to organize an alternative rally in the center of their city, people from Criuleni went to Chisinau on foot.

Those who managed to get together decided to take it not by numbers, but by creativity. They swept the streets with yellow flags of Sandu's party, and then threw them towards the steps of parliament and trampled with inspiration. Protesters drowned out police megaphones with the beating of drums and beating iron cans.

People chanted in Romanian: “One-two, one-two, Maia Sandu in the trash.” They held posters in their hands: “Sandu is ready to give up Moldova,” “USA + Europe = evil for Moldova.” Another poster showed the “Mayan Devil” on fire.

Oligarch Ilan Shor, who fled to Israel (his party organized the protest), addressed the audience via video link. He promised Sand that there would be problems with holding the “Great European Meeting” on May 21. The oligarch intends to organize an alternative rally.

In addition, the SHOR party announced that it plans to block traffic during the summit of the European Political Community in Bulboaque on June 1-2.

Apparently, on the indicated dates we should expect another blocking of buses throughout the country.
