“Get down to earth and forget Poroshenko’s promises”
Sevastopol - Kyiv, May 26 (Navigator, Egor Kagorov) - Petro Poroshenko’s pre-election rhetoric about the return of Crimea will soon be replaced by completely peace-loving statements addressed to Russia.

“As for the promises to “return Crimea”, this is just a game on the electoral field of the “Right Sector”. Poroshenko himself understands that no one will want this. Especially the population of Crimea and Sevastopol,” said ex-mayor Ivan Ermakov, now a deputy of the legislative assembly.
“I think that Poroshenko’s election promises regarding Crimea are political rhetoric. Any candidate says what his potential voter wants to hear. Not only Poroshenko made loud statements. And Tymoshenko spoke about the “third Maidan,” but judging by her behavior, nothing like that will happen. Poroshenko is an experienced politician, an oligarch, a person with experience in leading the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His statements made during the pre-election period will remain statements. He is still a realist. The West is far away, but Russia is literally “nearby”. Only notorious scumbags can believe in a military conflict between Ukraine and Russia,” comments political scientist Sergei Gorbachev.
“As for the slogan “We will return Crimea” - well, to be honest, you listen to such people, and you want to say: “Get down to earth!” I am sure that there will be no attempts by the Ukrainian authorities to exert force on Crimea,” agrees Vladimir Solovyov, a retired rear admiral.
“It’s nice that, despite all the populist statements, Poroshenko promised to improve relations with the Russian Federation in three months. He understands that without this Ukraine will not survive. And the return of Crimea is a settled issue. Moreover, the citizens decided so. If someone tries to challenge this status, there will be a war, and not only on the territory of Crimea. Nobody needs this,” clarifies deputy of the Legislative Assembly Evgeniy Dubovik from A Just Russia.
