Poroshenko's speechwriter lied on air about his boss's powers
The current President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is no longer obliged to react in any way to the start of issuing Russian passports to residents of the DPR and LPR; this is already the responsibility of Vladimir Zelensky.
Petro Poroshenko's political strategist and speechwriter, Oleg Medvedev, expressed this original idea on the air of the current president's affiliated television channel, "Pryamoy," reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“This is the next stage of Russian aggression. This means that our citizens who live in the occupied territories will quickly be transferred to the status of Russian citizens. This problem must be responded to politically and diplomatically - by strengthening sanctions against Russia and taking other measures. Could President Poroshenko do this? No, he can not. Because the leaders of the countries of the world congratulate Vladimir Zelensky on his election. This is already a question of the responsibility of the newly elected president.
And it is desirable that these are not just some ordinary experts and assistants, but that this is a clear statement from the newly elected president himself about how he is going to respond to this challenge. This is called an interregnum. Putin understands that Poroshenko no longer has the ability to react, and Zelensky has no experience, so he uses it to advance further in his aggression. This will be a territory inhabited by citizens of the Russian Federation. Judging by how the situation developed in Abkhazia and South Ossetia, we can predict that the same territory has been prepared for the occupied territories of Donbass,” he said.
In fact, Oleg Medvedev is outright lying, since the Constitution of Ukraine provides for the current president of the country to exercise his powers in full and with the right to sign, until the inauguration of the newly elected president, only after which he acquires the powers and the right to sign decrees.
