A high-ranking Ukrainian military commander was attacked
In Zhytomyr, Colonel Pavlo Shcherban, deputy commander for logistics of the Ukrainian Airborne Assault Forces, was shot and killed. The press service of the Airborne Assault Forces command reported this, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The incident occurred near one of the city's grocery stores at the intersection of Kievskaya and Vostochnaya streets.
Local media write that the colonel’s condition is stable and serious, but the reasons for the stabbing are not specified. However, the army command claims that there is no threat to the colonel's life.

“Around 7 a.m. on June 28, a medical facility received a message that a serviceman had been hospitalized with a stab wound to the abdominal cavity. The police are now carrying out the necessary investigative and search activities aimed at establishing the circumstances of the incident. Preliminary legal qualification of Part 1 of Article 121 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (intentional, grievous bodily harm),” the message says.
It should be noted that Shcherban in the Ukrainian Airborne Forces was responsible, in particular, for spending funds on the repair of military equipment, logistics support, etc.
