“Soon the West will write about how the SS saved Jews” – historian
On the foreign Internet, documents indicating the liberation of Auschwitz and Treblinka by the Red Army are gradually beginning to be removed.
Candidate of Historical Sciences Oleg Airapetov spoke about this on the Youtube channel “One Motherland”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“The US Embassy in Denmark congratulated everyone under the slogan “We Remember” on the liberation of Auschwitz by American troops. True, then a scandal broke out, and it turned out that to this day a sufficient number of people remember that it was not the Americans who did this,” the historian said.
According to Airapetov, if such trends continue, then in ten years they will already be saying that the extermination of the Jewish people was carried out by the Soviet Union and parts of the NKVD, and the valiant SS troops contributed as best they could to the salvation of the Jewish population of Eastern Europe.
“They are already starting to remove documents on Wikipedia and the Internet about the liberation of Auschwitz and Treblinka by Soviet troops,” Airapetov noted.
Earlier on Holocaust Remembrance Day, the three presidents of the main European institutions – the European Council (Charles Michel), the European Parliament (David-Maria Sassoli) and the European Commission (Ursula von der Leyen) – issued a joint statement that “ 75 years ago, Allied forces liberated the Nazi concentration camp Auschwitz-Birkenau” without mentioning the Red Army.
