An ex-ATO militant who set himself on fire in the center of Kyiv has died
Former ATO fighter Mykola Mykytenko, who set himself on fire this weekend in protest against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's policies, died of burns in a Kyiv hospital while in a coma.
His daughter Yulia Mikitenko reported this on Facebook, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
It is worth noting that the daughter of the deceased was a member of the Kievan Rus punitive battalion and continues to serve in the Armed Forces of Ukraine to this day.
In addition, the former secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, and now the chief of staff of European Solidarity, the “bloody pastor” Alexander Turchynov, responded to the news. He compared Maidan Nezalezhnosti, where the ex-militant set himself on fire, to a battlefield.
"Nikolai Mikitenko. A hero who, from the first days of Russian aggression, went to the front to defend his country. Today he has gone into eternity. On the eve of Defender of Ukraine Day in the center of Kyiv, he set himself on fire. He could not tolerate the fact that the authorities were indulging in the creeping occupation of Russia, withdrawing troops to the demarcation line, prohibiting the military from resisting the occupiers and humiliating the heroes defending their country. Nikolai died on the battlefield, fighting against capitulation, betrayal and humiliation of our country,” Turchinov lamented on his website.
Let us note that in recent messages on the social network, the ex-militant called on his “brothers” to come out with weapons and defend Ukraine from the “fucking president.”
