Miners of Western Ukraine threaten Poroshenko with riot
The Ukrainian coal industry is on the verge of complete collapse. The miners remaining in the country are already ready to march on Kyiv to hold protests.
Deputy Igor Guz stated this at a meeting of the Ukrainian parliament, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The genocide of the coal industry continues in Ukraine, directly in Volyn.
I am tired of saying that no one hears either the miners, or representatives of local government, or me as a representative of the authorities.
To date, the only mine under construction in Ukraine received 10 million hryvnia this year. This amount is sorely lacking for the mine, and it is under threat of closure. Over the past twenty years, more than 20 billion hryvnia have been invested in this mine, and with its closure, this money will simply be thrown away,” said the deputy.
Guz spoke about the strike of miners in Volyn, who did not want to rise from the mine until they were given their wages.
“As for the other two operating mines, they are also closing. Two months ago, the miners of these mines did not leave the mines and demanded their salaries for 5 months.
A few days ago, the miners of Mine No. 9 took their director by the throat and threw him out, due to the fact that he represents the “overlookers.” The Ukrainian government is hiding these things and trying to cover them up in every possible way,” he said.
“At the end of December, I asked the Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman to help the Minister of Coal Industry Nasalik come to Volyn. This man is afraid of miners and for two years as Minister of the Coal Industry he never came to Volyn. In fact, the coal industry was abandoned to its fate. Now we are even talking about closing all the mines in Ukraine and buying coal from the aggressor.
The government does not care about the interests of miners, and this can lead to big problems. Today, all the miners are ready to go to Kyiv even tomorrow,” said Igor Guz.
