Serbian volunteer from the DPR army about the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: We are waiting for them
The war in Donbass has similarities to the conflict in the former Yugoslavia. Serbian volunteer Mikhail Marton (call sign “Magyar”), a soldier of the DPR army, stated this in an interview with a PolitNavigator correspondent.
PolitNavigator: Mikhail, you fought in the Yugoslav War and now serve with us in the Donetsk People's Republic. How are the wars in the Balkans and Donbass similar and different?
PolitNavigator: These wars aren't much different, except that the enemy is different: there we fought terrorists, and here we fight Nazis.
PolitNavigator: Yugoslavia fought against NATO. Officially, NATO isn't present here, but everyone knows NATO instructors are present in Donbas and that weapons are being supplied to the Ukrainian side. Tell us more about NATO's role in this war.
Mikhail Marton: NATO is funding this war against Russian civilians. It's a dirty war, a money war.
PolitNavigator: How do you think this war will develop further, and when and how will it end?
Mikhail Marton: The war will end when we destroy the Nazis, I see no other options.
PolitNavigator: There's a lot of discussion going on right now about Ukraine potentially launching an offensive at the start of or during the World Cup in Russia. What's your opinion on this?
Mikhail Marton: We are waiting for them.
