Senchenko demands to launch missiles, despite Russian protests - “Moscow will not do anything”
Ukraine should not abandon plans to conduct missile firing in the airspace over Crimea, despite Russian protests, Andrei Senchenko, the former head of the Crimean organization of Yulia Tymoshenko’s party, said on Shuster’s talk show.

“The feeling of anxiety should not paralyze us. Because the whole calculation of Russia as an aggressor state will be precisely that Ukraine will endlessly retreat, then we may find ourselves pressed with our backs to our western border – in Lviv, Transcarpathia,” he said.
Senchenko believes that the Russian Federation will not take any forceful action in response, as was the case with the water and energy blockade of Crimea.
“We have taken more drastic steps towards Russia – in terms of the degree of impact, and long-lasting ones – when we cut off the water supply to Crimea. And then they also scared us, they said that there would be a breakthrough, they would seize the distribution center, which stands and regulates the water supply.
I will remind you of the energy blockade when the supports were blown up. This was also very strong in terms of the impact - the occupation authorities had to take emergency, super expensive measures in order to ensure energy supply to the peninsula,” said the Ukrainian politician.
According to Senchenko, “the state of Ukraine has the right to conduct exercises on its territory. If everyone pulls us back, then we will not have a state.”
He rejected arguments that Kyiv should not now provoke an aggravation of the situation.
“If you follow your logic, then the state of Ukraine should not test weapons or conduct shooting at all. Almost every day on the isthmus with the Crimean Peninsula, Russian military helicopters cross the front line, constantly provoking. In response, at best, we write notes,” Senchenko said.
