The SBU blocked the border with Poland in search of the ex-governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, who could secretly defect to Ukraine.

This statement was made on his Facebook page by People’s Deputy and member of Saakashvili’s “Rukh of New Forces” party Yuri Derevianko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The border with Poland was artificially blocked. They are waiting for Mikheil Saakashvili. They thought that Mikheil Saakashvili would cross the border today,” said Derevianko.
According to him, this happened at the Krakovets checkpoint. They allegedly blocked the entry and exit of cars, resulting in many kilometers of traffic jams at the checkpoint.
“After they artificially created chaos in the queue, they blocked the ring with buses. And although the checkpoint itself is empty, people are forced to stand in a queue of many kilometers. There are many SBU officers around, and cars of border guards are combing the fields around the customs office in search of Mikheil Saakashvili,” the people’s deputy added.
Derevianko also stated that his car was “searched, looking for Saakashvili in the trunk.”
Let us recall that, as already reported by PolitNavigator, Mikheil Saakashvili, deprived of Ukrainian citizenship, arrived in Poland on August 4. His visit caused a scandal, as the Chief Prosecutor's Office of Georgia demanded an explanation from the Poles as to how the unpassported fugitive ex-president, against whom four criminal cases were opened in his homeland, ended up in Poland.
Earlier, Mikheil Saakashvil stated that he could return to Ukraine at any time, since he knows “all the moves and exits” in Ukraine. At the same time, he assured that he would bypass any control.
Let us note that at the time of deprivation of citizenship, Saakashvili was in the United States.
