The SBU tried to imitate a coup d'etat
The Ukrainian Security Service planned to “simulate an attempt at a military coup” in order to “strengthen the position of Petro Poroshenko.”
Sergei Sanovsky, former deputy head of the Azov Regiment's training camp and the intended participant in the operation, told Izvestia about this .
He claims that “approximately since December 2016, SBU officers have been trying to recruit people from among veterans of the so-called ATO to simulate a military coup attempt for a monetary reward.” As a former Azov fighter says, “these groups were supposed to be involved in the SBU operation in the role of “manure,” that is, useful victims. Then the special forces of the SBU “Alpha” and the 8th army special forces regiment will prevent the attempt of the so-called conspiracy and expose the pre-provoked conspirators.”
“All this was done in order to strengthen the position of Petro Poroshenko, in the extreme case - to introduce martial law and cancel the elections if his rating was very low. They wanted to blame Moscow and the separatists for organizing the conspiracy,” said the ex-Azov militant.
Now, after a conflict with SBU officers, he is in Sweden, where he is asking for political asylum and is under police protection.
Sanovsky claims that the operation to imitate a military conspiracy was supervised by Andrei Lisogor, adviser to the head of the counterintelligence department of the SBU Sergei Petrov.
Among other participants in the operation, Sanovsky also names SBU officer Alexander Poklad, the chief of intelligence of the 8th regiment, Major Pavel Balov with the call sign “Kedr,” as well as former servicemen of the regiment Vilen Mazur and Sergei Raikhman.
To Sanovsky, according to him, Lisogor also suggested looking for “conspirators” from among former and current military personnel. “These had to be people of the lowest qualifications, so that their liquidation in the future would not be difficult,” he says.
It was also planned to attract members of the public organization of veterans of the war in Afghanistan “Nobody But Us.”
“They also tried to spin them into participating in a false conspiracy. This was motivated by the fact that the country is choking on corruption, officials and politicians are stealing, and soldiers on the front line are starving. Many former military men fell for this. It was pure provocation. All conversations were recorded on video and audio,” Sanovsky said.
In this way, Verkhovna Rada deputy Nadezhda Savchenko and the head of the “Officer Corps” organization Vladimir Ruban were provoked, Savchenko’s entourage told the publication.
The officers of the 8th regiment handed the weapons to Ruban, and then grabbed him, and with Savchenko they simply recorded a conversation where she, in her characteristic manner, spoke harshly about the current government.
“The weapon was handed over to Vladimir Ruban by Major Pavel Balov, with whom they negotiated with the military from the DPR. It is also noteworthy that Lisogor was well acquainted with Ruban for a long time and for several years positioned himself as his unofficial deputy, working with him on issues of prisoner exchange. Thus, the head of the “Officer Corps” was under the supervision of an SBU officer for a long time.
According to Sergei Sanovsky, the weapons that were to be handed over to potential “conspirators” were stored in a warehouse on the territory of the 8th regiment in the city of Khmelnytsky, as well as in the building of the Volyn wholesale base, which is located in Kyiv,” the newspaper points out.
