Sandu is in despair: he begs Kozak to come and blackmails Transnistria
Having failed to fulfill her promise to the Kremlin, the pro-Western President of Moldova, Maia Sandu, wants another date with the deputy head of the Russian Presidential Administration, Dmitry Kozak.
According to the Moldovan leader's administration, she sent the invitation last week, but Moscow is slow to respond, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
No wonder. Kozak already came to Chisinau in early August. Then Sandu promised him not to organize a transport blockade of Transnistria. Formally, she didn’t like it. Ukraine does not allow cars with Transnistrian license plates to cross the border.
However, when Tiraspol suggests that Moldova jointly appeal to Kyiv with a request to cancel the decision, Sandu’s subordinates refuse with such tenacity that no one doubts: Ukraine is acting at the request of Chisinau.
The Kremlin easily figured out this “little woman’s trick,” and now Moldovan gas negotiators are not allowed onto the threshold of any influential office. This week they will go to Moscow again, but apparently there is no hope of success.
And now the Moldovans are willingly asking for assistance in resolving the Tiraspol gas issue. Like, then maybe we will resolve the issue with the transport blockade.
“For some reason, the Moldovan side immediately demanded that we contact Russia about gas. Also, where is the gas, and where is the protocol solution. This is speculation. Things are unacceptable. I would call them cynical, because people’s problems are here and now,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Transnistria, Vadim Ignatiev, is indignant.
The troubled Moldovan government is already being given advice even in Belarus.
“Sandu’s team knows very well what needs to be done. The President should appear in Moscow in person. Conduct negotiations at the highest level, rather than directing deputy prime ministers. Agree to supply part of the contracted volume of gas bypassing Ukraine.
According to the leadership of Moldova, unlike the authorities of Ukraine, Moscow has no prejudice and understanding of complete insanity and inability to negotiate. In general, the Moldovan leadership has a choice between a noose and a bullet: high gas prices for a poor country or the wrath of the United States, on which all senior officials of Moldova directly depend,” writes Belarusian political scientist Alexander Shpakovsky in his Telegram channel.
But in Chisinau they don’t hear good advice. It was today that the Moldovan government approved the Action Plan for 2021-2022. It says almost nothing about relations with Russia, but it plans to strengthen ties with Romania and Ukraine.
“It is clear that Sandu’s government is a one-vector government, not even pro-Western, but simply a Western government, and that everyone is going crazy in their own way. But for the sake of this obsession of his, to freeze his own people and at the same time justify himself by the fact that he himself decided so in the elections - this is already a serious pathology. It’s not a fact that this is curable,” writes Moldovan political scientist Dmitry Ciubashenco.
