“Numerous materials have been identified that justify the activities of organizations banned on the territory of the Russian Federation: Right Sector, Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, Jabhat al-Nusra and other terrorist groups fighting in Syria. These resources promote ideas of national and religious hatred, which creates threats to public safety and encourages extremism,” the message says.

As the head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov reported on the official website of the department, the requirements of the Prosecutor General’s Office have already been fulfilled.

Alexander Zhuchkovsky, a Russian volunteer fighting in the Donbass, expressed his bewilderment about the blocking of Sputnik and Pogrom and Right View on his telegram channel.

According to him, a split occurred among Russian nationalists in 2014 - some of them supported Ukraine, others supported the reunification of Crimea with Russia, as well as the uprising in Novorossiya.

The list of resources banned today includes not only pro-Ukrainian sites, but also resources supporting Donbass.

“Thanks to the information support of Sputnik and Pogrom at the initial stage of the war (spring-summer 2014), we mobilized hundreds of volunteers and raised several tens of millions of rubles for the purchase of equipment, technical equipment, drones, armored vehicles (we also acquired the famous armored personnel carrier thanks to fundraising among M&P readers). The website “Right View” belongs to the Russian Imperial Movement. On the basis of this movement, in 2014-15, through the military sports club “Imperial Legion” (belonging to RID) in St. Petersburg, we trained, equipped and transported up to two dozen large groups of volunteers to the Donbass fronts,” Zhuchkovsky wrote.
