“The President is not without a sense of humor: only a cheerful person can appoint Saakashvili to the National Council for Reform, at the meeting of which the famous “Avakov-Saakashvili” battle took place (with the historical “be-be-be”, pouring water and throwing glasses)

"But seriously, Saakashvili's appointment is a return to the high political establishment (the National Reform Council brings together all the state's leaders), without access to the governing system (he has virtually no real powers)," notes Ukrainian political scientist Ruslan Bortnik, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

Russian political scientist Alexei Chesnakov believes that Saakashvili’s appointment is a step to further deteriorate relations between Kyiv and Moscow, and also demonstrates the weakness of Zelensky’s team.

“The appointment of Saakashvili as head of the executive committee for reforms in Ukraine sends several important signals. 1. Zelensky’s team is not up to the task. Showing weakness. 2. There is no program. They hire people, not ideas. 3. The level of conflict within the government is increasing. 4. Another negative factor towards Russia. An obvious step towards the deterioration of bilateral relations,” Chesnakov listed.
