Saakashvili will be set against Poroshenko, who is gaining ratings
Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky takes ex-President of Georgia Mikho Saakashvili into his team to use him against Petro Poroshenko, who is threateningly gaining ratings.
Ukrainian political scientist Vasily Vakarov stated this on the Rossiya 1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“It seems to me that this is a political technology step by Mr. Zelensky, and it is directed against Poroshenko. Poroshenko’s ratings have grown very much. I witnessed those events, around 2017, December, when an “anti-corruption wave” swept across Ukraine. In Kyiv, Saakashvili first held a forum, then he traveled throughout the country, in Kharkov, in Odessa, and held these forums as the main fighter against corruption.
As it turned out later, this was Poroshenko’s maneuver against Prime Minister Yatsenyuk. Thus, Saakashvili was used, there were billboards “Run, Senya, run!”, “Run, rabbit” and so on. In general, in the end Poroshenko managed to defeat his opponent,” the expert recalled.
“It is obvious that political strategists or people who surround President Zelensky advised him to do this. Well, since the person coped with this matter, why not repeat it? Then, playing on Poroshenko’s side, he played well - Yatsenyuk was fired. Obviously now this appointment will be in opposition to Poroshenko and his party,” added Vakarov.
Let us recall that, according to sociologists, recently the rating of Poroshenko’s party has increased to almost 7% and rose to third place, ahead of Yulia Tymoshenko’s project, which has only 6,3%.
The rating of Zelensky's party today is 32%, in second place is Viktor Medvedchuk's Opposition Platform with 9%.
Saakashvili will be pitted against the increasingly popular Poroshenko.
