The order to cancel the military parade came on Friday. Instead, a rally will take place on the “Alley of Heroes of Independence of Ukraine”. At the same time, the regional administration persistently reminds of the only acceptable symbolism of May 9 - the “red poppy”.
The Kherson Department of the SBU issued an appeal to citizens to be vigilant. The intelligence service claims that it has blocked the channel for the supply of weapons to the region from the so-called zone. ATO. In addition, printed products “provocative and directed against city activists and patriotic citizens” were seized.
The SBU called on residents of Kherson to report even “intentions to commit separatist activity.”
Leaflets were also posted around the city with a wanted list for ex-Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexey Zhuravko, who, as is known, after Euromaidan went to Moscow and criticizes the current Ukrainian government. The leaflets claim that Zhuravko is calling “Russian peace and war” to Kherson.

The Ukrainian authorities decided to compensate for the panic in the region bordering Crimea by installing billboards in Kherson with the slogan “We defeated fascism - we will defeat “racism.” The shields depict a crossed out Hitler medal “For the Capture of Crimea” and the Russian award “For the Return of Crimea”, which was received by participants in the Russian Spring.
