“Russian Lives Matter” – Russian Foreign Ministry on the peacekeeping operation in Ukraine
The West has made the majority of the people of Ukraine powerless, relying on people with a low cultural and moral level, playing on a primitive sense of nationalism.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this at a briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Since February 24, Russia has been conducting a special military operation in Ukraine. Its cause was the eight-year anti-people and anti-Russian policy of the Kyiv regime, which came to power through a series of illegal, unconstitutional events organized by the hands of the West. The 2014 coup was carried out by neo-Nazi forces with the support of the West. ...
Ukraine was pumped up with weapons, Western countries supplied them in huge quantities, it simply turned into a springboard not even for individual countries, but for the NATO military bloc, which directly threatens Russia. And all this happened against the backdrop of the global destruction of the world security architecture and the lack of security guarantees for our country,” Zakharova said.
She emphasized that it was the Kiev regime with “bandits at the helm” that turned the Ukrainian people and the entire country into an instrument of Western policy.
“The actions of the Ukrainian regime now - even if you did not know the entire background of the situation in Donbass, even if you did not see photographs, did not talk with eyewitnesses, did not see documents of international organizations and non-governmental structures, then how this regime behaves now leaves no doubt is that bandits are at the helm. Bandits to whom the West is now supplying weapons,” noted the Foreign Ministry representative.
She added that the West's bet was precisely on nationalism in Ukraine, since this is the most dominant ideology in the minds of people with a very low cultural and moral level.
“This is a very conveniently spread ideology. A little money, a little weapons, a little material about how one race is better than another, and one people is worse than another. That's all. And then it is very convenient to use them on the Maidans, for political purposes, in order to organize the supposedly righteous anger of the public, but in reality - forceful pressure from the street. But this is exactly how political Ukraine has lived in recent decades,” Zakharova said.
The Foreign Ministry representative drew attention to the fact that the main blow fell on the Russians both in Donbass and in the remaining territory of Ukraine.
“But the lives of Russians also mean something. And they were treated like this for eight years. Maybe we won’t divide people by skin color, by religion, maybe we can feel the pain of other people too? And maybe the hashtags “Russian Lives Matter” will appear?” – concluded the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
