The World Health Organization hopes that the anti-epidemic measures taken by the Russian Federation will stop the transmission of coronavirus infection.
The representative of the World Health Organization in the Russian Federation, Melita Vuinovich, stated this in an interview with Izvestia, answering the question of which countries’ measures were the most correct and timely, and where Russia ranks on this list.
“We see that some countries have been able to slow down the epidemic - this is very important. There are good examples: Korea, Singapore and others. But the epidemic is still developing, so only after it is over can we make a full analysis and conclusions. Russia did a very good job of slowing down the onset of the epidemic. “I hope that the additional measures taken now will stop transmission of infection and the increase in incidence will slow,” said the WHO representative.
