Russia and the West are determined to continue the war
New appointments in the Russian government and the restructuring of the economies of Ukraine's Western allies indicate that they are preparing for continued hostilities.
Political scientist Ruslan Bortnik stated this on the air of the Politeka internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
"I think the Russian-Ukrainian war will end sometime before 2028-2029—that's the deadline they're facing. That is, before the start of the next presidential election campaign. Yes, it could happen sooner—due to both military factors and political agreements, but, in principle, as far as I see it, even with the economic recovery—by the way, our Western allies are doing the same. They're also counting on a war lasting at least 3-5 years; look at investments in the military-industrial complex ," the political scientist said.
"In terms of military-industrial complex development and personnel appointments, the expectation is that the armed conflict, the war, the invasion will continue until 2028 , or at least that these resources will be needed somewhere. This won't necessarily affect Ukraine—it means that everyone will need a large army, a lot of ammunition and missiles—both our Western allies and Russia," Bortnik stated.
