At the Normandy Four summit in Paris yesterday, Russia did not give up a single position, confirming its readiness to continue to support the Donbass Republic.
The editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine, Igor Korotchenko, stated this in a commentary to PolitNavigator.
According to the expert, Ukraine will have to implement the Minsk agreements signed by the previous president Petro Poroshenko.
“Zelensky’s attempts to impose changes to the Normandy format ended in vain.
Russia did not concede on any of the fundamental, key issues, did not succumb to persuasion or pressure, so we will proceed from the previous strategic approaches - the Minsk Agreements, point by point, Ukraine is obliged to implement.
Otherwise, Zelensky and Ukraine are welcome, that’s all.
We have not given up supporting Donbass, all our principled approaches remain, so how Zelensky will interpret these results - whether he will engage in cheap PR or not - does not interest us.
The main thing is that we have not surrendered Donbass and are not going to do so.
Therefore, the key approaches of Ukrainian diplomacy and politics remain the same: the Minsk Agreements are the basis, otherwise Ukraine can go far and for a long time,” Korotchenko concluded.
