It is reported that large landing ships "Tsezar Kunikov", "Saratov", "Azov" and "Nikolai Filchenkov" were involved in the maneuvers.
According to the Ministry of Defense, the Black Sea Fleet marines occupied the areas waiting for loading onto the large landing craft, from which landing groups of ships were formed. Surface ships practiced the task of guarding landing ships in areas where amphibious assault forces were formed.
Yesterday, more than 20 fighters of the Southern Military District (SMD), as part of strategic command and staff exercises, practiced repelling a massive air strike from a mock enemy.
Let us remember that the strategic command and staff exercises of the Armed Forces “Caucasus-2016” started in the south of the country on Monday, 12,5 thousand military personnel, the latest equipment, aviation and navy were involved in the training. The exercises will last until September 10.
