Russian singer complains: Punished with rubles for supporting the junta
The famous Russian singer, member of the rock group “Night Snipers” Diana Arbenina complained that she had problems organizing concerts in the Russian Federation after the singer apologized to the Ukrainian public at one of her performances in Kiev.
“30 or 50 concerts have been cancelled. Not bad, right? I was thrown into some strange car. Although I did not apologize for Russia to Ukraine. This is bullshit. I said that I sympathize with the people in Donbass, because they found themselves in a terrible time for Ukraine,” Arbenina said.
The singer is clearly disingenuous, military correspondent Alexander Kots noted in his blog. According to him, Arbenina never visited the DPR and did not express support for Donbass.
“She has never been to the DPR and did not support it... Arbenina was in Kyiv. And there she apologized to the local public for the fact that her colleagues were not going to Ukraine. And then in Russia her concerts began to be cancelled. But that was four years ago. And it sunk into her soul so much that she talked about it in another interview,” Kots explained.
To prove his words, the military correspondent cited a link to a video recording of Diana Arbenina’s performance on the Kyiv stage in 2013.
As PolitNavigator reported, Arbenina had a contract with Ukrainian television during the events of 2013-14 and refused to support the Russian Spring. However, just a year later, after her contract expired, the singer returned to Crimea. This prompted vitriolic criticism in the Crimean media.
