Russian artillery is much more durable than NATO artillery, and is used more competently.
Ukrainian military expert Oleg Starikov stated this on the Politeka channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Why did the enemy remove T-65 and T-55 from the mobile reserve? Our not very smart people laughed. They use these tanks as self-propelled artillery for firing from cover. And secondly, to preserve our artillery.
Artillery barrels have their own reserve. As an example, five thousand rounds from the guns of the former Soviet Union, we multiply by three, it will be ten to fifteen,” Starikov said.
He criticized Western weapons for being unreliable and difficult to maintain.
“And NATO barrels, for example “Panzerhaubitze 2000”, five hundred rounds. Then the old barrel must be removed and another one inserted. Same with “Zuzana” and the like. We fire these guns, and then we need to transport them to Eastern Europe for repair bases. And the enemy saves money in this way,” the expert added.
