This was stated by the head of Rosgranitsa, Konstantin Busygin, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Busygin, seven checkpoints: three road, two railway and two air, located on the territory of the Republic of Crimea, will be thoroughly modernized by 2020.
“The program for the socio-economic development of Crimea provides 6,9 billion rubles for these purposes. There are two main tasks: during the capital construction of all checkpoints, to ensure security and increase throughput,” said the head of Rosgranitsa.
According to his forecasts, the number of vehicles crossing checkpoints on the border of Crimea and Ukraine will increase over time. Today, up to a thousand cars per day pass through all border points of Crimea in both directions. Capital construction and equipping Crimean checkpoints with the latest technology will begin primarily with three automobile checkpoints: Armyansk, Dzhankoy and Perekop.
The modernization of the checkpoint at the Simferopol airport will be carried out simultaneously with them; in the future, the task is to create a similar checkpoint at the Sevastopol Belbek airport. The equipment of two railway checkpoints on the Armenian and Dzhankoy directions will be completed by 2020.
The tasks for capital equipment of the Crimean sea checkpoints will be set later, noted Konstantin Busygin.
