The referendum is unknown when. Zelensky promised to put the NATO issue on hold
Ukrainian presidential candidate comedian Vladimir Zelensky will hold a national referendum on the country's accession to the EU and NATO.
The ideologist of his headquarters, Ruslan Stefanchuk, stated this on air on the ZIK TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We express our position: NATO – yes, EU – yes. But our other position is that we should make all these decisions only after there is agreement from the all-Ukrainian referendum. Because after this, no one can say what the will of the people is,” Stefanchuk noted.
Stefanchuk noted that Zelensky will bring this issue to the referendum only if Ukraine reaches NATO and European standards and if sociology shows a positive response from society.
“It is necessary to hold a referendum on Ukraine’s accession to the EU and NATO when the country meets the standards required for joining NATO and the EU. And believe me, when these standards are in place, the decision at the referendum will be unequivocally “Yes,” concluded Zelensky’s ally.
Let us note that neither the EU nor NATO have repeatedly pointed out to Kyiv that Ukraine is not welcome in both unions in the coming decades, while at the same time welcoming Kyiv’s steps towards rapprochement. At the same time, opinion polls in recent years have even recorded a slight decrease in the number of NATO supporters in Ukraine compared to pre-Maidan times.
