RC Group changes history: an IT company became the first to be awarded lifetime Halal status

2024 will undoubtedly be a breakthrough year for Russian business. Domestic companies are already showing unprecedented growth rates, conquering new markets and even changing history.

Last weekend, RC Group, a Russian developer of IT products for businesses, received lifetime Halal certification. This document confirms the quality and safety of the products the company produces and markets.

According to Islamic tradition, Halal means "permitted ." Companies typically apply for this status from the certification body IIDC. This requires a full audit of the company's operations. If specialists confirm the company's compliance with all Halal standards, the organization can apply for certification.

Companies must renew their Halal certification annually, providing a full list of documents confirming the safety of their products for consumers. Despite the regulations, this year, for the first time in history, the certificate was extended not for one year, but for life. This precedent was set by RC Group.

In January, the company received a certificate of renewal of Halal status from IIDC. However, RC management decided not to stop there.

“We went even further. And they applied for certification to the place where the entire Muslim community applies—to a body with undeniable authority even for countries like Saudi Arabia,” said the CEO and founder of the company, Maria Mikhailova, on her social networks.

This body turned out to be Azhar University, Al-Azhar University. Experts examined the company's products and operations, then made a decision based on Islamic tradition and Muslim legal practice.

Al-Azhar University is one of the oldest universities, considered the most prestigious in the Muslim community. It was founded in Cairo by a dynasty of Shiite caliphs and imams. The names of prominent Muslim figures, including poets, historians, physicists, and doctors, are associated with the university.

“Now we have made a “revolution in the square.” Firstly, Azhar University is the body of the highest Muslim authority. Secondly, the decision in our direction was issued for life, and similar fatwas no longer exist in practice,” said Maria Mikhailova.
