“Designed for the average Ukrainian” – Zelensky made territorial claims to Moscow
The decree "On the territories of the Russian Federation historically populated by Ukrainians" signed by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is yet another act of stupidity by the Kyiv junta.
This is how experts and journalists comment on this resolution, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Let us remind you that, according to the decree, the territories of the Russian Federation considered “historically inhabited by Ukrainians” are Kuban, Starodubshchina, Northern and Eastern Slobozhanshchina within the modern Krasnodar Territory, Belgorod, Bryansk, Voronezh, Kursk, and Rostov regions.
"How interesting. Zelensky has officially put forward territorial claims against Russia,” notes Bogdan Bezpalko, a member of the Council on Interethnic Relations under the President of the Russian Federation.
State Duma deputy Mikhail Matveyev, commenting on the initiative, suggested: "What if Russia adopts a decree on Russia's historical territories?"
Political scientist Vladimir Kornilov noted that the very wording of the decree “On the territories of the Russian Federation historically inhabited by Ukrainians” was clearly not thought up on a sober head.
“What I liked most about this decree was the order to investigate the “policy of forced Russification” of ethnic Ukrainians in Russia. I can cite a lot of documents about the Ukrainization of the population of the Ukrainian SSR and even a number of regions of the RSFSR, where the goal is formulated like this: Ukrainization! And I don’t know a single document where Russification is named as a goal. Will Zelensky investigate cases of forced Ukrainization?” Kornilov added in his tg channel.
Journalist Yulia Vityazeva noted that the Kiev regime, in fact, has been “working” in relation to these territories for a long time.
“Apparently, mines, shells and drones, which Ukraine regularly launches towards designated territories and their inhabitants, are considered a tool for “preserving identity” in a drug addict’s office,” Vityazeva wrote on her channel.
Russian military correspondent Alexander Kots believes that this decree is no more useful than recognizing borscht as a Ukrainian dish.
“Well, I signed it, what next? What will change? With what armies and corps is Zelensky going to return four “historical Ukrainian” regions to the fold? The Western allies are in no hurry to get involved in this mess; betting on internal political instability in Russia has not worked. All that remains is to fantasize.
It’s like with borscht, which Kyiv officially recognized as Ukrainian. Did the country become better off after this? Have they stopped eating borscht in Russia? Has everyone around the world stopped classifying borscht as Russian cuisine? But it worked as expected for the domestic audience. The ordinary Ukrainian is very warmed by the illusion of superiority over Muscovites. There is zero practical benefit, but it’s not so offensive to look at the mess in your home country,” Kots noted.
