Putin: External forces are trying to destabilize the situation in Crimea
In Crimea, there remains a threat of destabilization of the situation by external forces, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a security meeting in Sevastopol.

“It is obvious that there remains a threat from external forces to destabilize the situation on the peninsula in one way or another. These may be attempts to play the nationalist card or, taking advantage of certain mistakes, miscalculations, or ineffective actions of the authorities, to direct the just concerns of citizens into a destructive direction.
In some capitals they speak openly about this, and they also talk about the need to carry out subversive activities. Appropriate structures are being formed, personnel are being recruited and trained to carry out sabotage, acts of sabotage, and to conduct radical propaganda. The goal is obvious - to shake up the situation, to interfere with the normal life of people and the socio-economic development of the region.
All these risks need to be taken into account and responded accordingly by both federal and local authorities. Nothing here needs to be exaggerated, nothing needs to be escalated, but everything needs to be kept in mind and accordingly be prepared and react quickly,” the official website of the head of state quotes Putin.
