Putin compared ISIS to the Nazis
The actions of the terrorist group ISIS in the territories it conquered are reminiscent of the actions of the Nazis during World War II. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this in an interview with Russian media on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
According to him, this is characterized by torture and destruction of cultural property by the occupiers.

“As for the comparison with the Nazis, I think no one here is surprised. Look what they are doing, what atrocities they are committing: beheading people, burning them alive, destroying monuments of world culture, and so on. Doesn't this parallel with the Nazis suggest itself? This is exactly how the Nazis behaved in their time. Therefore, there is nothing surprising in this comparison. And I would really like that, understanding this, we unite as many countries as possible in the fight against this threat,” Putin said.
