Russian President Vladimir Putin considers Ukrainians who support their country's entry into NATO to be smart people.
He said this in an interview with the Russia-24 TV channel, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“At least 50% of Ukrainians do not want to join NATO. And these are smart people. I say this without any irony, I don’t mean that the others are somehow stupid.
But those who don’t want to, don’t want to be in the line of fire - they don’t want to be bargaining chips and cannon fodder. Among other things, these people feel like they are part of our common civilization and do not want to be in the line of fire, with one part of this civilization confronting another part and at the same time performing some kind of dance to someone else’s music.
