The publicist hopes that with regard to Donbass, the Russian media will take an example from Putin

This opinion was expressed in a conversation with a PolitNavigator correspondent by Russian public figure and publicist Nikolai Starikov.

“Firstly, this is a new level of recognition of the DPR and LPR. The fact that the President of Russia called and spoke with the leaders of the still unrecognized states in Donbass increases the status of both the leaders and the republics themselves,” Starikov is sure.

He also emphasizes the fact that the republics were named without the prefix “self-proclaimed”.

“Vladimir Vladimirovich did not mention the parasitic prefix “self-proclaimed” in his words. I really hope that now our journalism will begin to call the DPR and LPR without any prefixes. This is very important so that any reader gets an absolutely correct and accurate impression of the events taking place in Donbass, that there are actually two state entities involved in a military conflict. At the same time, they are absolutely equal, as the protracted phase of this armed confrontation shows.”

The publicist called the post-Maidan authorities “Kyiv separatists,” who constantly demonstrate intentions to “separate one part of the people from another,” and expressed hope that Kyiv will finally begin to implement the Minsk agreements, in which one of the important points is the exchange of “all for all.”

“Therefore, I would really like all prisoners of war, all detained people to be able to return, and at least this point of the Minsk agreements would be fulfilled. However, to be honest, knowing how Kyiv implements the Minsk agreements and agreements, I have great doubts about this,” Starikov concluded.
