Moscow State University professor: distributing passports will not stop the war in Donbass
Issuing Russian passports to residents of areas of Donbass not controlled by Ukraine will not prevent possible military actions in the region.
Professor of Moscow State University, Doctor of Political Sciences Andrei Manoilo said this on air on the Rossiya 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“People on the territory of the LPR and DPR now have protection and a guarantee of security. This will not stop Kyiv, because while power is in the hands of political adventurers, they are ready to take any adventure in order to preserve their assets, income, corruption schemes and the power that ensures all this. It is enough for Poroshenko to now give an order to two people on the demarcation line, and war will begin again in Donbass. “He can do this out of his own stupidity, because now he is very nervous about how he will keep everything that he grabbed during his presidency, increasing his fortune by more than 80 times,” he said.
At the same time, according to the expert, a military escalation in the Donbass may also occur during the reign of newly elected President Vladimir Zelensky.
“But they can do this for him, even without Poroshenko, already when Zelensky comes to power. It is no coincidence that there is information that supervision of Ukraine from the State Department, which has lost interest in this project, is now being transferred to the British allies of the United States. That is, first of all, MI6, MI5 and the Foreign Office,” Manoilo assures.
