"The process has deteriorated." Kiev no longer has any illusions about the “integration” of the LDPR
Negotiations between the parties within the framework of the Minsk agreements have turned into absurdity, everyone understands this, and this has a bad effect, including on Ukraine.
Enrique Menendez, an activist with the public group "Responsible Citizens" and founder of the analytical center "Institute of Regional Policy," stated this in an interview on the KRT television channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“We already have the framework of the Minsk agreements. Yes, it's not perfect, but it's a good starting point. If you cannot bring it to an end, then at least pretend that negotiations are ongoing. And now the negotiations look simply absurd. I know very well many participants in this process, and I know both from the Ukrainian and Russian sides, and from the ORDLO side. In private conversations, people say that this is complete absurdity, that this is simply a degeneration of the negotiation process. That it doesn't exist.
This happened literally a year ago. I have said many times in my materials, which I also wrote for Western think tanks and the Western press, that the process has degraded. And if it continues to degrade, then there is no point in talking about any integration.
Moreover, even now, hand on heart, I have no illusions about integration. The question is that the Ukrainian territories, which are under the control of the governments of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions, and adjacent regions, are degrading. They will face an outflow of investment, they will face an economic crisis, social tension, and an outflow of youth. Because a frozen conflict several hundred kilometers away does not make these territories prosperous,” Menendez said.
