Pro-Bandera Canadian minister promised support for Zelensky
Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland, the daughter of emigrants from Western Ukraine, known for her anti-Russian position, promised support to the winner of the presidential elections in Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, declaring that “democratic Kiev” (where opponents of the regime are burned, like in Odessa, and unwanted journalists are killed, like Olesya Buzin) should become an example for Russia.
"It's very important that all of Ukraine voted for you. A democratic Ukraine with a successful economy is an example for all countries in the post-Soviet region, particularly for Russians," Freeland said today at a meeting with Zelenskyy in Kyiv, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.
Freeland added that “Vladimir Zelensky can count on Canada’s support in the international arena.”
“We have a chance for a ceasefire and the return of Donbass,” said Vladimir Zelensky, without specifying how exactly he plans to do this.
Freeland is on Russia's sanctions list. She is known for her tough anti-Russian position in connection with the reunification of Crimea with the Russian Federation and the conflict in Donbass. Freeland criticized Poland for trying to impose punishment for promoting Bandera ideology. The former journalist also previously served Ukrainian oligarchs - for example, she worked as the host of the Yalta Forum for oligarch Viktor Pinchuk.
