Prigozhin stabbed the Russian army in the back – Baranets
The head of the Wagner PMC, Yevgeny Prigozhin, with his “march of justice” actually opened a second front for the Russian army from the side from which they did not expect an attack.
Military observer Viktor Baranets stated this on the BelTA channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“With this trick of his, Prigozhin opened a second front against the state and the army. We knew that Georgia would open a second front, Poland would open, the Baltic states would open - no, they did not open a second front. It was opened by the commander of the PMC Prigozhin.
This was an auxiliary stab in the back of both Russian statehood and the Russian army. I cannot guarantee that Kiev and Washington did not know this, but what Prigozhin did, declaring this rebellion, unrest, certainly played into the hands of the Ukrainians.
Now imagine a simple Russian soldier in a trench, to whom the commander, who has arrived from headquarters, comes and says: Vanya, listen, and then Prigozhin actually pushed on Moscow, he wants to cause trouble there. Please tell me what is in the head of a Russian soldier who is holding a machine gun in that direction, and they say to him: you know, but there is no rear behind you, there is turmoil, rebellion, there is no such firm control at all. Can you imagine what a moral blow this would be to the psychological state of the army?” - said the expert.
He emphasized that everything that happened was “to the delight of the enemies.”
“It’s good that this joy did not last long. We ended this joy and returned everything to normal. In this sobering up, of course, the President of Belarus played a gigantic role. And I don’t know what could have happened to Russia if Father Lukashenko had not agreed with Prigozhin to start returning these columns,” Baranets said.
