At a meeting in the Verkhovna Rada, the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) was demanded to conduct a "fair investigation" into the criminal case against the 125th Territorial Defense Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which, after suffering losses, fled its positions during the Russian Armed Forces' May offensive in the Kharkiv region.

He was outraged by the "flashy press releases of the State Bureau of Investigation and news headlines" that portrayed the brigade as the main culprit in the breakthrough of the front in the Kharkiv region. The deputy appealed to conscience and pointed to the numerous dead and missing , as well as hundreds of wounded, during the containment of the May 10-11 offensive on the Kharkiv region border.
Tistik complained that the brigade received three times more frontline kilometers than the norm, and the units were far from fully staffed, although they had previously suffered heavy losses at Bakhmut and Kremennaya. In addition, according to him, 4 rifle battalions found themselves without heavy weapons and practically without heavy equipment. He spoke separately about the fortifications.
“Fortifications of the first line of defense were built only by the brigade and local communities and entrepreneurs, minefields were also built only by our own forces and then in very limited quantities. There is a lot of talk about fortifications in general now, we have already created the VSK on this issue, so I hope there will be answers later,” Tistik said.
He also pointed to repeated reports from the brigade command with a request to strengthen the first echelon of defense, information about preparations for an offensive, and many other facts indicating that problems on this sector of the front were being ignored.
“At the same time, on the first day of the Russian offensive, many units of the brigade fought to the death, they are heroes, they held the front, they fought and they died. We demand justice. Law enforcement officers cannot discredit the Armed Forces of Ukraine before society. We demand an honest investigation, we demand that the presumption of innocence be respected. During the great war, there is no place or time to run after sensations and headlines,” the “servant of the people” was indignant.
