“I don’t support positional wars, but they are acting correctly near Artemovsk”: military analyst
The commander of the Northern Military District, Sergei Surovikin, in the Artyomovsky (Bakhmutsky) direction (Bakhmutsky) successfully united the interaction of various types of troops, thanks to which the Armed Forces of Ukraine constantly transfer reserves and cannot attack in other directions.
Vladimir Prokhvatilov, a senior researcher at the Academy of Military Sciences, stated this on radio “KP,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“As for Bakhmut and Surovikin, I, like any person who read Sun Tzu, who said that the worst thing is to storm fortresses, and remembers how the Verdun Meat Grinder initiated by the Germans ended in 1918, do not sympathize with positional wars. And there, in fact, there is a positional war going on, but it is going on with our success. Even if it’s not always noticeable, even if they are moving forward step by step, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have finally been stopped,” the expert said.
“Have you noticed that they are transferring reinforcements from other fronts to the Bakhmut area? This suggests that, at least now, they will not be able to attack in other directions. And this, in my opinion, was achieved thanks to the synergy of Commander Surovikin, who at one time showed himself well in Syria as a tough but proactive commander. And the Wagner group, within which it was possible to establish good interaction between all branches of the military and show the effectiveness of the so-called. reconnaissance and strike complexes.
The concept of such RUK complexes was proposed by the famous Marshal Ogarkov, Deputy Minister of Defense of the Soviet Union, and it boils down to the fact that infantry effectively and quickly interacts with reconnaissance, in particular with air reconnaissance. Aerial reconnaissance detects the enemy, informs the infantry, or vice versa, and quickly strikes even a moving target, which is destroyed. This is what I see as one of the reasons for success,” Prokhvatilov said.
