Payette said that the United States will support the actions of the governor of the Odessa region, Mikheil Saakashvili, and a member of his team, deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Eka Zguladze.

“I will be in Odessa with my anti-corruption team; we will be exploring some of the initiatives that we, that is, the State Department, would be willing to support. We will continue what you and Eka Zguladze did here - with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the patrol police, and do more, using Odessa as a “laboratory” for American support for fundamental anti-corruption reforms,” Payette said, addressing Saakashvili.
