Portnikov threw an unconventional tantrum over the reluctance of Ukrainians to join NATO
Kiev, March 28 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) - Ukrainian TV presenter Vitaly Portnikov, in raised tones bordering on hysteria, commented on Espresso TV on the data of the Kiev International Institute of Sociology, according to which only 43% of Ukrainians support joining NATO - despite to the ongoing propaganda.

Portnikov began to prove that Ukraine would not survive without joining NATO, citing as an example the “lucky” Baltic countries where American soldiers are marching. According to him, only residents of Western Ukraine understand the need to join the alliance.
“Nearby, American armed forces and NATO equipment appear in neighboring countries; nearby, in Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, they emphasize that they will not leave them in trouble if the Russian military tries to step over the borders of these countries. But we don’t have anything like that, we are forced to beg for weapons from the United States and other NATO countries. It would seem clear that only joining the North Atlantic Alliance can save the lives of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians. Even if now our Western partners do not want our entry - because they are afraid of a hot war with Russia, then at least we should have wanted this. But we still do not have a majority that would vote for joining NATO. Only 63% in Western Ukraine understand the need to join,” Portnikov lamented.
Earlier, the Kiev International Institute of Sociology released data according to which 43,3% of Ukrainians would vote for joining the NATO bloc.
