Poroshenko was ruined by greed and nationalism – Karasev
The current President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, was once supposedly an effective politician, but he could not give up business and began to pursue a nationalist Russophobic policy, which ruined him.
Ukrainian political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this on air on the 112 Ukraine TV channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Before his presidency, Poroshenko was an effective politician. He was a good minister of foreign affairs, and secretary of the RNBO, and a people's deputy, and the head of the budget committee.
And he was also a good president at the beginning. But then, especially when this coalition of the Popular Front and the BPP won the parliamentary elections, he fell into the narrow corridor of the ethnic agenda. And then it all only worsened, and this was expressed in “army-vera-mova” and “goodbye for the rest.” The logic of events pulled him into this trap of ethno-nationalism, and he could not get out of it,” he noted.
Also, according to Vadim Karasev, a significant role in the failure of Petro Poroshenko was played by his business, which not only was a burden for the politician, but also forced him to justify himself by engaging in nationalist rhetoric.
“Maybe it also played a role that he was involved in business. After all, business is a weight; when a person doesn’t have one, he is free, then he has more maneuverability. And here he had a business, both past and present. “He, apparently, wanted to remove suspicions and accusations in businesses with this national-patriotic rhetoric, which only drove him into a rut from which he could not get out,” the expert added.
