Poroshenko proposed to rename Ukraine “Kievan Rus”
The mayor of Novograd-Volynsky proposed to Petro Poroshenko to change the name of the state of Ukraine to “Ukraine-Rus”.

According to the press service, City Mayor Vladimir Zagrivy issued Order No. 147 (o) dated July 28.07.15, XNUMX, which deals with making a proposal to the President of Ukraine regarding the initiation of changes and additions to the Constitution of Ukraine by renaming the state of Ukraine to the name “Ukraine-Rus” (Kievan Rus).
“The text of the proposal will soon be sent to the Verkhovna Rada, the government and the Association of Cities of Ukraine, all city chairmen for consideration during the discussion and amendments to the Constitution of Ukraine, and also provided to deputies of the city council for processing in standing committees and factions to submit this issue for consideration by the city council,” the message says.
In addition, the press service reported that a corresponding letter was sent to the President of Ukraine.
The letter notes that this particular name “was stolen from the Ukrainian people along with its glorious history and appropriated several centuries ago by the current aggressor country.” It is also noted: “This fact will be the best respect for the many millions of Ukrainian patriots who gave their lives for their People. This will begin the active process of building a New Ukraine-Rus.”
