Poroshenko has prepared springboards for fleeing the country
After losing the presidential election, Petro Poroshenko may leave for Spain or the UK.
Izvestia writes about this, noting that one of the future options for Poroshenko could be emigration.

“The head of state has long prepared an estate for escaping from Ukraine. Journalists call the heart of Poroshenko’s “foreign empire” an estate in the small town of Atalaya Isdaba in southern Spain on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The villa is a two-story house with a swimming pool in the backyard worth €4 million. The President never included this property in his declaration, since it is registered to his Spanish company.
Great Britain could become a “reserve airfield” for Poroshenko. Here his son is studying at college, and his two daughters are studying at universities. Some Ukrainian officials also moved here. In London, in particular, the former head of the national bank, Valeria Gontareva, settled,” the publication points out.
However, the newspaper stipulates that leaving the country will mean abandoning all ambitions in politics and business in Ukraine, which means it will only happen as a last resort.
“Probably, Poroshenko still expects to get into the Verkhovna Rada. If the rating is not enough to receive a deputy mandate, his comrades-in-arms will flee, and the prospect of criminal cases becomes real, he will retire,” the publication notes.
In turn, the director of the Ukrainian Institute for Policy Analysis and Management, Ruslan Bortnik, believes that in the near future the outgoing president will feel quite calm in Ukraine, adding that Poroshenko’s closest associates, who may indeed bear political and legal responsibility, will be much less safe.
