The President of Ukraine spoke with tabloid reporters on Saturday evening at the Kempinski Hotel in Bratislava after celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution in Slovakia.
In particular, he stated that Ukraine is currently the most dangerous place in the world, “even more dangerous than the ISIS threats and everything that is happening in the Middle East.”
The president convinced journalists that “Ukraine has fulfilled all the terms of the peace treaty” and confirmed that he was ready to compromise. Poroshenko is confident that the conflict cannot be resolved by military means, and he is not going to negotiate with Russia, because “it does not fulfill its obligations.”
Poroshenko assured that the Ukrainian army is in much better condition than five months ago and that he is ready for all-out war.
“It is absolutely clear to us,” said the President of Ukraine, “that the EU will not send soldiers to Ukraine. We need military-technical assistance." “Even if we asked for NATO membership, the alliance is probably not ready for that,” he said.
When asked about the humanitarian catastrophe in Donbass, Poroshenko is convinced that Ukraine was ready to do everything necessary to help the residents, but “terrorists” prevented the provision of humanitarian assistance.
Poroshenko also answered the question of German journalists why he has not yet sold the Roshen corporation, as he promised. According to him, negotiations are currently underway with a large investment bank. “I am confident that we will be able to sign a contract soon,” the billionaire president said.
