“Russia is our neighbor. Today, relations with the Russian Federation are the most difficult, perhaps in the last 200 years - there has never been such a crisis,” he said.
“I am sure that we can talk with the Russian Federation with the participation of the United States, the EU, and other formats,” Poroshenko added.
“Ukraine will never recognize an illegitimate referendum and will never recognize the occupation of Crimea,” he emphasized, adding that Ukraine’s course towards integration into the European Union is also not subject to negotiations.
In addition, Poroshenko said that he would initiate the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada.
“Not a single meeting where the people did not demand early parliamentary elections. The country cannot allow the existence of a parliament that blocks decisions aimed at the country’s defense... I am confident that parliamentary elections should be held this year,” he said.
