Poroshenko gave a Ukrainian passport to Gaidar’s daughter, and in response she apologized for all of Russia
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko signed a decree granting citizenship and presented passports of Ukrainian citizens to Russian oppositionist Maria Gaidar, who works in the Saakashvili administration in Odessa, and Russian journalist Vladimir Fedorin.

Poroshenko's press secretary, Svyatoslav Tsegolko, reported this on his social media page.
“I am sure that both Gaidar and Fedorin will do much more for Ukraine than Azarov and Oliynyk for Russia,” Tsegolko wrote, hinting at yesterday’s press conference of the Committee for the Rescue of Ukraine in Moscow.
“Your example convincingly shows that you cannot remain silent, you must live in harmony with your conscience,” Poroshenko said during the presentation of passports.
Poroshenko also noted that the maximum that Fedorin and Gaidar can do for Russia today is “to ensure the success of Ukraine.”
Petro Poroshenko thanked Maria Gaidar and Vladimir Fedorin for their support of the Kyiv regime.
“Your unbiased position, opinion and information from Ukraine, as an alternative to Kremlin propaganda, is very important for millions of Russians,” said Petro Poroshenko.
In turn, Vladimir Fedorin, speaking about his new citizenship, called today’s Ukraine “the flagship of freedom and normalization in the post-Soviet space, which gives hope to the peoples of the former USSR to become members of the global family of free peoples.”
Maria Gaidar noted that for her, Ukrainian citizenship is a very significant choice.
“I am here at a difficult time for Ukraine in order to share the fate of the Ukrainian people. We have a common enemy - an authoritarian regime that kills people both in Russia and here,” she said and apologized for what is happening in Russia now.
