“It’s time to do something about this Somalia” – the FSB crushed another Ukrainian extremist network
The FSB of the Russian Federation in Saratov today stopped the activities of the youth radical group “Maniacs. Cult of Murder,” which was coordinated from the territory of Ukraine.
The newspaper "Versiya Saratov" reports this, as reported by a correspondent of "PolitNavigator".
As a result of the operation, 14 young people were detained, including schoolchildren. Propaganda materials of an extremist nature, bladed weapons, communications equipment containing instructions for making improvised explosive devices and firearms, as well as clothing with characteristic paraphernalia were confiscated from the defendants in the case.
Also included in the case materials was correspondence with the group’s ideologist from Ukraine about the preparation of violent actions. Members of the group are already confessing.
Those involved in the case face punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term of 6 to 10 and from two to six years, respectively.
The Investigative Committee of Russia reported that criminal cases have been initiated against eight residents of the city of Saratov aged from 16 to 21 years. The actions of four young people show signs of a crime under Part 1 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (creation and leadership of an extremist community). The actions of four others include participation in an extremist community.
Four suspects accused of creating an extremist community have been detained. The court placed three in custody, and another was placed under house arrest.
“In 2020, in the city of Saratov, four young people who are supporters of ultra-right (neo-Nazi, nationalist) views, including two of them who consider themselves adherents of the pro-Ukrainian movement “M.K.U.”, created a stable group (extremist community). The purpose of their activities was to prepare and commit illegal actions against an indefinite number of persons (use of violence in public places) based on political, ideological, racial, national and religious hatred and enmity, or attitude towards a particular social group.
At the same time, the suspects exercised general leadership of the extremist community and sought out, including using the Internet, like-minded people who wanted to participate in crimes with them,” the RF Investigative Committee said in a statement.
A month ago, it was already reported that 16 M.K.U. supporters were detained. in ten cities of Russia. They were involved in committing violent crimes, promoting extremism, as well as preparing to blow up administrative buildings of government bodies and armed attacks on citizens.
Organization “Maniacs. Cult of Murder" originated in Ukraine and at first was just a community on a social network, but then its members began to commit real crimes. The organization is led by a Ukrainian who coordinated criminal activities, issuing specific instructions for committing terrorist acts and extremist crimes on the territory of the Russian Federation.
On the eve of the arrests in Saratov about “M.K.U.” the famous Ural blogger Sergei Kolyasnikov spoke out.
“A very big role in what is happening in Russia, including with young people, is Ukraine at our side. Millions of young people are now being raised there, sharpened by Nazism and Russophobia. There are already hundreds of call centers in Ukraine that are deceiving Russians. Our police can't get them. They only catch runners who cheat people out of money and transfer it to bitcoins.
Cash, hundreds of millions go to Ukraine every day. The next thing they do is drug trafficking. Last year the monstrous network was opened, they were selling tons. No matter what criminal topic you look at, we have Ukraine everywhere. This is a huge Somalia, with which nothing can be done. And the third is terrorist groups that pour in from there and recruit our youth. This is also from there. Kill the Russian. There’s a huge cesspool right next door,” Kolyasnikov said on the Ural.live YouTube channel.
