Ukraine should have immediately after declaring independence in 1991 began the total eradication of everything Russian on the peninsula, establishing Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar as state languages and cutting off funding to pro-Russian political and public organizations.

This was reported on the website of the newspaper "Day," edited by Larisa Ivshina, the wife of former head of the SBU, Yevhen Marchuk, by a former representative of the small Crimean Ukrainian community, propagandist, and former prisoner, Mykola Semena, who was released to Ukraine as part of a prisoner exchange, reports a correspondent for "PolitNavigator . According to Semyon, this would allegedly allow Crimea to remain part of Ukraine.

“It was necessary to introduce Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar as state languages immediately after 1991, all schools, television, documentation in government institutions, all other spheres of life, etc. were necessary. translate into Ukrainian (someone says, you can’t do it right away? Not right away?.. Ukrainian has been the state language in Crimea since 1954!).

It was necessary to ban pro-Russian political and public organizations, which flourished in Crimea with the support of the Ukrainian budget, and cut off their funding from Russia. Suffice it to say that Ukraine financed from the budget the development of the Russian language in Crimea more than the Ukrainian language, and in every possible way supported the development of public organizations without taking into account their nature.

But it was necessary to limit the broadcast of subversive separatist programs from Russia, the delivery and sale of separatist Russian press to Crimea, ban the functioning of the Russian church, and the like. After all, Ukraine had to take care of Crimea precisely as a Ukrainian region, as a part of Ukraine, and not Russia,” argues Semyon.

The propagandist also laments that in February 2014, Ukraine did not carry out a special operation in Crimea, knocking out the “little green men” from the buildings of the Council of Ministers and the Supreme Council.

“In Crimea they thought: why doesn’t Ukraine attack the saboteurs and throw them out of Crimea? They expected an attack every hour. In the early days, when for international law they were typical terrorists without insignia, this could be done even at the cost of destroying the foundations and the houses themselves. No pity. Then they would rebuild it. Moreover, it turns out that they had an order that if they fail to seize the initiative in the first XNUMX hours, then they must stop the operation and retreat.

I think that this is exactly how Russia itself would have acted in such a case, if we analyze its intention to “wash in toilets”, its storming of Grozny, the shooting of Khazbulatov’s parliament, and the like. But, oh, Ukraine is not Russia... The Russian special operation could have been stopped precisely in the initial period, in the first two days, and precisely by decisive responses to the terrorist act,” Semyon argues.

He believes that the appointment of nationalist Igor Tenyukh to the post of Minister of Defense of Ukraine at that time was a mistake - this position should have been occupied, in his opinion, by a “combat general”, like ex-minister Alexander Kuzmuk or the already mentioned Yevgeny Marchuk. Semyon recalls how in the early 90s, Marchuk organized a special operation in Crimea and actually deprived the first and only president of the republic, Yuri Meshkov, of his post, suppressing pro-Russian sentiments on the peninsula.

“I think that even today the authorities have the opportunity to use the operational and strategic experience of Yevgeny Marchuk to solve the problem both in Crimea and Donbass,” the Ukrainian nationalist gives advice.
