One of the paratroopers, who has been in the ATO zone for four months now, spoke about this in an interview with Gal-info. According to him, after the fighters occupied the airport in Lugansk, over the past 1,5 months, they were subjected to constant mortar, machine gun and machine gun fire.

“Now we have already had a week and a half of relative peace. We follow the orders of the senior officer,” he said.

“There is a certain problem with drinking water; we have to save it. We collect rainwater for domestic needs,” the military man said. He also added that some food items are being dropped off to them by parachute. Now they still have Ukrainian and American dry rations from their reserves.

According to him, the fighters are equipped with level 4 body armor.

“This armor can withstand a bullet from an SVD from 20 m. Our comrades helped us with body armor. Another thing is helmets. The Kevlar helmets are old, so I can break it with my hand,” he said.

According to the fighter, it is very difficult to carry out a rotation now: due to the shelling, it is impossible to use aviation.

“It is no longer possible to carry out a rotation; it is also very difficult to transfer reinforcements. The only way out is to introduce martial law in Lugansk, then we would carry out a complete cleansing. In total, a complete cleanup can be done in a week,” the fighter said.

According to him, all fighters are concerned that they, as promised by the state leadership, receive the official status of a participant in hostilities.

As Navigator reported, relatives of the Lviv paratroopers complained that the military had practically nothing to eat and were forced to hunt.
