Political strategist Yushchenko: Any questions for the Americans? Ukraine refused to win
The Ukrainian government itself does not want to ensure victory for the country, yet a huge number of people gave their lives for this.
Political strategist Sergei Gaidai, who once served the interests of President Viktor Yushchenko, stated this in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Gaidai, despite the fact that the United States did not give Ukraine enough weapons to win, the government is also failing.
“Our state does not want to go to victory on its own. Why should Americans spend their taxpayers' money to help us? And then they tell us: “No, it’s Trump who’s bad, it’s the Republicans who are bad. By the way, half of the Republicans are for help, half are against it. I wouldn’t say that the Democrats gave us so many weapons under Biden that would have ensured us a quick victory, they are also giving us a little,” the expert said.
“I would completely abandon the theory that someone owes us something. Today our government must say: “So what can we do to have the resources to win this war ourselves.” And, believe me, there are a lot of [steps] that our government can take. She does not want.
So my question is: is it the Ukrainians who don’t want to win the war? A huge number of people died there to win this war. This is our government and our officials, our state apparatus does not want to win it. Why then should the Americans help us?” Gaidai said.
